A. Please summarize one of Job’s three stories and the message he wants to share with the graduates through the story?

There was a quote affect Job a lot: If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right. It makes him treasure each day of his life. However, there was a shockable thing happened, he was diagnosed with cancer. Luckily, the tumor turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. After that experience, he realizes that our time is limited, so just have the courage to follow our heart and intuition. They somehow already know what we truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

B. Where did he learn about the quote, “Stay hungry, stay foolish”? What does it mean to him?

There was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog.
Our time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out our own inner voice. And most important of all, have the courage to follow our heart and intuition. They somehow already know what we truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

A. Please summarize one of Job’s three stories and the message he wants to share with the graduates through the story?
(2) Love and loss
Job found what he love and work for it. He and Steve Wozniak started Apple at the garage at first. Then it became a big company, with over four thousand employees. But he got fired at the age of 30. He almost gave up, but he found he still love what he likes to do before. He tried to start over again, and again he succeeded, founded NeXT and Pixar.
He wanted to tell the graduates that the failure can be a great turning point in their life. Just keep searching for what you love, and stick to it once you find it.
B. Where did he learn about the quote, “Stay hungry, stay foolish”? What does it mean to him?
He learned about this quote at the publication called 《The Whole Earth Catalog》. I think it means “never stop” to him. It tells him that he should never be satisfied with what he acquired, never stop thinking, and never stop searching for possibilities.

A. Please summarize one of Job’s three stories and the message he wants to share with the graduates through the story?
Telling us about his cancer story and the faith he has always persisted in:If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right. When we are faced with some unavoidable choices, we should remember that perspective because only by this way we can throw other barriers away and follow our intuition. That makes things easier and makes you consider problems more thoroughly.

B. Where did he learn about the quote, “Stay hungry, stay foolish”? What does it mean to him?
In “The Whole Earth Catalog”.
Life is limited. Experiencing so much ups and downs in his life, even ran away from death, I think he can absolutely understand the feeling of despair and dissapointment. Thus, the quote to him, I privately think, is not only meant to be open-minded but also about treasuring everything and every resource that you can reach, including your lifetime.

A.Please summarize one of Job’s three stories and the message he wants to share with the graduates through the story?

The second story is about love and loss. He talks to the students about his career. He was fired by the Apple and joined to the NeXT. However, the Apple bought NeXT. So he returned back to the Apple again. When he chose his decision, he just wanted what he really interested in and had the faith in it. And as far as I am concerned, I think it is a important idea for everybody. We should choose what we really want to do, want to have. Then just do it!

B. Where did he learn about the quote, “Stay hungry, stay foolish”? What does it mean to him?

There was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog and it was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand. He and his team put out a final issue. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish."
People should try to open each person’s mind to learn and obtain different things. And we shouldn’t waste our time living someone else’s life. We can go through the dilemmas we have met and hold a positive attitude to the unknown things. Then, we may see various faces of the things we will meet in the future.

A. Please summarize one of Job’s three stories and the message he wants to share with the graduates through the story?

First one.He dropped out his college work and do what he interested in.And he invented Mac with his friend.
He said that you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. I feel frustrated about my future because i can't be the student who enter the university early.Steve Jobs' words really inspire me.

B. Where did he learn about the quote, “Stay hungry, stay foolish”? What does it mean to him?

In "The Whole Earth Catalog".

Always be humble and keep a willingness heart to learn from others, and never feel satisfied with your knowledge.

Name: Chian Yu-Juan Number:27
Story Analysis: String Puppet
1. Modern times , their home in the city and an abandoned cellar in the graveyard
2. Mariana: sensitive and distrustful
Johnson: shy, crazy, weird and irrational
3. Johnson usually went out secretly at midnight and didn’t tell his wife, Mariana, what he did and where he went. So they often quarreled with each other about it. Soon Mariana found Johnson’s incredible secret and then decided to tell the police and leave him. In the end, Johnson killed Mariana. After he made her body into his most beautiful puppet, he committed suicide.
4. The string puppets were made from real human beings but why these didn’t become rotten?
5. I like the description that Johnson’s shocked act and face when he saw Mariana. The good point is that Johnson’s favorite hobby is to make real human beings into puppet. The vivid plot is that Mariana was being made a puppet by Johnson.

1. In 22 century.
There is one luxurious and mysterious villa at the small and unknown village in Texas.

2. Excellent scientists: smart, careless
Anne: (normal)
Anderson: a father who love his son very much
Jimmy: a “smart” boy when he became a zombie
Barbara: careless
Zombies: crazy, scare of light

3. Zombies bit people. Anderson might killed Jimmy because he tried to bit him. And where was Barbara?

4. Why the zombies didn’t run out of the village in Texas.

5. A hint foreshadowing later developments in a story

Name: Chiang,Yi-chieh Number: 09

Story Analysis:

1. What is the setting of the story? When and Where?
Once upon the time, On Toby planet

2. Who are the major characters in the story and what are their major traits?
In the story, there have Ivan, a considerate, gentle and filial man with industrious attitude in working, and Edison, a greedy and unscrupulously guy.

3. What is the major conflict or problem in the story? How is it solved? Or left unsolved?
With traditions, the first price should come to the throne though everyone consider him a greedy, inappropriate person. But there were public voice saying Ivan, the second prince, would be a better choice for throne.
To solve this controversy, Ivan and Edison decide to contend for the throne in a planet named Earth. They were sent to earth and have a competition which the one who with more fortune, high position in society and great networking is the winner. In the end, Ivan overcame the censuring from his brother and won the competition.

4. Is there any question or points left undeveloped?
   No.
But I think the plot and character’s action is so easy to predict.

5. What is the best part of the story?
Just like a parable, it has brisk language, fluency sentence and interesting story setting.
